2.5 Curriculum Component (CC)

-
When creating a learning design, we generally begin by identifying the intended learning outcomes (ILOs) for the entire learning process.
-
Next, we divide the learning process into different phases, with each phase serving as a curriculum unit focused on specific outcomes.
-
Each unit comprises a sequence of learning tasks and assessments designed to achieve and evaluate the attainment of the defined set of ILOs within that unit.
-
In the LDT framework, we refer to a single curriculum unit as a Curriculum Component (CC), while a series of such components across different phases of learning is called a Curriculum Component Sequence.
We will then explore an example of the Curriculum Component Sequence for a STEAM subject in the coming section. This will help you gain a better understanding of what a Curriculum Component (CC) is and how it connects to the Learning Design Triangle.
